Getting to NMC is hampered for those approaching from the west by the fact that the east and west lanes of Briggsmore Avenue (the main arterial to the south) are divided by an irrigation canal. The options are two:
- Proceed to the traffic light at the corner of Briggsmore and McHenry and on the left-turn arrow, make a U-turn. Come back two blocks and turn right on Sherwood.
- Turn north on College Avenue, proceed to the four-way stop (Bowen Avenue), turn right. Proceed west on Bowen until you reach the four-way stop at Sherwood Avenue and turn right.
